I realize more & more everyday how important it is to constantly be motivated by others but more importantly by self!
For a while I listened to motivational speeches from the great "Uncle" Les Brown and the late great "Great Uncle" Zig Ziglar ...EVERYDAY (plus several different ministers)!
....well I hit a hard bump in the road. Some unexpected things happened that I wasn't ready for and when I thought I would still be ok despite the circumstances, my situation got the best of me.
Nobody really knew I was feeling down & out on the inside. I continued on everyday like nothing had changed but BOY I was going through it!
I'm not one to really express when something's wrong so I won't go into detail, but just know that I finally got my MOJO Back!
"As a man thinketh so is he & as he continues to think so he remains" (I heard Uncle Les Brown say this)
Meaning: if you continue to think negative towards yourself or situations, it will remain negative until you change your mindset. Same thing goes for thinking positive!
--the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way: escape can be a strong motivation for travel.
--the general desire or willingness of someone to do something: keep staff up to date and maintain interest and motivation.
I found out that Life can tear you up if you let it. Certain things will happen to you & you can't do anything about it. Life can back you into a corner with nowhere to run, but don't give up the fight! DON'T be defeated! DON'T let anything discourage you!
"When I wake up in the morning I realize I have 2 choices...either to be happy or unhappy."--Unknown
What will you choose?
"People often say motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing---that's why we recommend it daily"--Zig Ziglar
When you have some free time, may I suggest watching this video from my Godfather Dr. Tony Evans. It helped me a lot and I plan to listen to it again soon!
While getting my nails done one day, my lovely nail tech & I discussed our futures, dreams, goals, etc & she advised me to create a vision board. I had heard of vision boards before & wanted to do one, but never did. Well, a few weeks ago I made one, & while I don't plan on sharing a picture of it with everyone, I do want to encourage you to create one for yourself! & put it where you can see it everyday!
How do you envision your life?
What would you like to see in your future?
What are your goals for yourself, career, your family?
Grab a few friends and make a party out of it OR just make one on your own time (that's what I did) & once its completed, pray over it...often!
Whatever goals you have for your life make sure you surround yourself with people you can learn from, people who believe in you, people who push you to be the best you can be. Get yourself an accountability partner (family member, co-worker, significant other--someone you can trust). And try to be motivation for others, not for your own self worth but to actually HELP someone else!! Support other people's dreams especially your family & friends. YOUR support for them goes along way!
I know when people tell me I motivate or inspire them, it makes me feel like I've done something good without knowing it & the motivation comes right back to me!
And remember to MOTIVATE yourself! You can't tell everyone what your plans are, others can easily discourage you intentionally and unintentionally. Be careful who you share your dreams with!
Maybe you want to lose weight? It's easier said than done right? Right, so make yourself a priority!
You can't expect to WIN if you don't TRY!
Get into the habit of listening to motivational videos, reading positive books, PRAYING.
PRAY like your life depends on it because it does!
Talk to yourself, tell YOU ---"I CAN DO THIS & I WILL!"
Make It Happen!
Don't Be Afraid!
EXCEED YOUR EXPECTATIONS!!
