(Crop Top: Forever 21 OLD, Midi Skirt: I made that!, Sandals: JCPenney (OLD) )
Summer is my favorite time of the year BUT early Fall is my favorite "style" time of the year (well, before its so cold that all I want to wear are sweat pants, hoodies and scarves).
One thing thats important for me as a Personal Wardrobe Stylist is to make sure my clients have several "transitional pieces" in their closet. Of course you'll want to buy new things when the seasons change, but you shouldn't have to buy an entire new wardrobe each time (well I mean unless you want to or if your body changes drastically, then of course)!
If you need help figuring out what some good transitional pieces are, you should totally get my Shopping Guide for building a long lasting wardrobe available HERE and HERE! (&Guys, its for you too!)
But this post is for the Ladies...
One of my favorite transitional pieces: The Midi Body Con Skirt. Its probably one of my favorites because I make them, so I have a nice little stash all to myself.
So how do we transition midi skirts from Summer to Fall?
It's quite simple!
*Switch out your sandals for booties!
*Layer with a maxi cardigan or kimono!
*Add a Blazer!
*Tights? Printed tights are cute..(don't get crazy though, unless thats your thing)
*Pullover sweaters! Oversized Sweaters (MY FAVorite)!
*Leather Moto Jacket with a loose fitting tee underneath & heels!
Are you getting some ideas yet?
I went pretty simple ...hats & blazers are kinda my thing, so that's what I went with, but I'd rock a maxi cardigan with this too!
"Hold my hat so I can try on this blazer..."
